- Leave one half-day for Teguise, arriving outside the busiest market hours for a calmer look at the town.
Where to base yourself
Arrecife is practical and local; Costa Teguise is convenient; Haría offers the quietest evenings.
Getting around
A rental car is useful, but buses connect major towns. Reserve automatic vehicles early during UK school holidays.
Food and reservations
Try grilled fish, goat cheese and potatoes with mojo. Vineyard tastings should be booked if someone else is driving.
Practical note: Do not walk on protected lava fields outside marked paths. The landscape is fragile and rescue access is difficult.
