Andalusia’s rail network makes a satisfying three-city trip possible without collecting a car or losing entire days to transfers.

When to go

February to May and October to November avoid the most intense inland heat.

A route that works

  1. Spend three nights in Seville, planning the Alcázar for a timed morning and keeping one evening for Triana.
  2. Take the fast train to Córdoba for one or two nights, visiting the Mezquita early and walking beyond the historic core.
  3. Finish with two nights in Málaga for museums, a waterfront walk and easier flight options home.

Where to base yourself

Choose accommodation within a 20-minute walk of each station or on a simple bus line.

Getting around

Book high-speed trains once dates are fixed. Flexible regional legs can often remain unreserved.

Food and reservations

Lunch is the main meal. Market bars and neighbourhood tapas work better than trying to eat at UK times.

Practical note: In warm months, plan outdoor sights before noon. A slower midday period is part of a workable itinerary, not lost time.
